How Many Days to Stay in Jersey City for the World Cup

Choosing a stay length in Jersey City based on how many matches you're attending, jet-lag tolerance, and budget. Real numbers on per-night cost differences across 3-day, 1-week, 2-week, and 1-month stays.

These recommendations come from hosting hundreds of guests across our 27 NY/NJ/PA properties through previous high-volume tournament windows. They reflect what guests actually report back, not what an itinerary calculator predicts.

Time vs cost

Longer stays improve our per-night economics. Discounts kick in at 7+ nights and step up at 14, 21, and 30+. For a multi-match trip, doubling your stay length usually halves your hotel-equivalent cost per match attended.

Most fans we host attend 2–3 matches. The rest of the time goes to fan zones, normal NYC tourism, and recovery days between marquee matches. Plan one full rest day for every three active days.

When to book

Top markets sell first. Hoboken and JC inventory typically clears 6–9 months before tournament dates; Newark and East Orange 3–6 months out; smaller markets fill closer to the matches themselves.

For knockout-round matches (Round of 16 onward), book at least 4 months out. The Final and Round of 16 dates fill across every NY/NJ market first.
