East Newark, NJ · World Cup 2026 base

East Newark World Cup 2026 Rentals — Quiet PATH-Adjacent Base

East Newark is a one-square-mile borough wedged between Harrison and Kearny — five minutes' walk from Harrison PATH, 25 minutes by car to MetLife, and quieter than anything you'll find in Hoboken or JC. Lower per-night rates than either, with the same train into Manhattan.

What East Newark actually is

Most travelers haven't heard of East Newark. It's a tiny, residential borough on the west bank of the Passaic River, sitting right next to Harrison and across from Newark proper. Less than a square mile total. Mostly two- and three-story houses on tree-lined blocks. Quiet at night. Real neighborhood feel.

Our Firehouse 1 and Firehouse 2 units (the building was an actual firehouse before conversion) are the heart of our East Newark inventory. Both walking distance from the Harrison PATH station, both with full kitchens and laundry, both built for groups of 6–9 who want to be near the city without being in it.

PATH from Harrison — the actual ride

Harrison PATH station is a five-minute walk from our East Newark units. From there, the Newark-WTC line runs every 8–12 minutes during peak hours. World Trade Center in 17 minutes. Newark Penn Station in 5 (transfer point for NJ Transit). Hoboken via the JC line in about 15.

For MetLife matches, the route is PATH to Newark Penn (5 min), NJ Transit to Secaucus Junction (8 min), MetLife shuttle from Secaucus (10–15 min depending on queue). About 35–40 minutes door to gate. Faster than from JC, slower than from Hoboken — but the per-night rate makes up for the extra 10 minutes.

When East Newark is the right call

We send three guest types to East Newark over Hoboken or JC. First: 2-week+ stays where the per-night savings compound (typically $50–80/night cheaper than equivalent Hoboken). Second: family groups who don't want urban density at night and would rather have stroller-friendly residential blocks. Third: corporate teams that want quiet evenings between matches and don't need walkable nightlife.

Where East Newark loses: walkable evening-out scene. The borough itself has a few decent restaurants — Pulaski Latin Grill on Central Ave is the local spot — but you're not bar-hopping here. For dinners out, our guests usually take PATH one stop to Harrison's new waterfront restaurants or three stops to Hoboken's Washington Street.

Booking direct — East Newark math

Direct booking saves the same 14–16% Airbnb fee. On East Newark units the absolute dollar savings are smaller because the base rates are lower, but the long-stay discount tiers compound aggressively here — we hold rates flat through the tournament window, while Airbnb hosts (us, on the platform side) typically disable long-stay discounts during high-demand events.

If you're considering East Newark for a 14+ night stay, the direct-booking gap vs Airbnb on the same unit is usually 30%+. Send your dates through the chat widget and we'll quote.
