Manhattan World Cup 2026 Rentals — Walk to Rockefeller Fan Village

Manhattan is the high-density choice for fans whose World Cup trip is half about the matches and half about the city. Walking distance to the Rockefeller Center Fan Village. NJ Transit from Penn Station to MetLife runs about 45 minutes door-to-gate. Our Manhattan inventory leans 2-bedroom corporate-suitable apartments.

When Manhattan is actually right

We're honest about Manhattan: it's not always the right pick. The per-night rate is the highest in our inventory by a wide margin, the rooms are smaller than equivalent JC or Hoboken units, and the post-match transit through Penn Station is a 45-minute commitment one-way. The pitch is what you trade for: walkable everything. Rockefeller Center Fan Village two blocks away. Twenty thousand restaurants. The subway as a circulatory system you'll actually use.

If your trip is one match plus a Manhattan vacation, base here. If your trip is three matches plus a fan-festival anchor, base in JC and visit Manhattan for dinners. We'll tell you that on the chat thread before you book.

MetLife from Manhattan — the actual route

Three options. NJ Transit from Penn Station to Secaucus Junction (12 minutes), then the MetLife shuttle (15 minutes plus queue). That's our default recommendation. Total door-to-gate from a Midtown unit: about 45 minutes.

Bus 320 from Port Authority Bus Terminal goes direct to MetLife on match days. About 35 minutes if traffic cooperates, longer if not. Pickup queue can stretch 30 minutes before kickoff for marquee matches; we don't recommend it for time-sensitive arrivals.

Driving is the worst option for Manhattan-based fans. Lincoln Tunnel to Route 3 backs up two hours before kickoff for big matches, and parking lots fill before that. If you're not going to take transit, base somewhere closer.

Rockefeller Center Fan Village — the closest official fan zone

The Rockefeller Center Fan Village is the official Manhattan fan zone. Open-air screens, programmed concerts between matches, food trucks, free entry. From most Midtown Sojourney units it's a 5–15 minute walk, depending on which side of Times Square you're on.

Capacity-wise, expect crowds for marquee matches. The plaza fills 90 minutes before kickoff for Brazil/Argentina/France/England fixtures. Smaller national teams draw thinner crowds and you can usually walk in 30 minutes before kickoff.

Manhattan supporters' bars are the alternative — Smithfield Hall on 28th, The Football Factory at Legends in the Theater District, Mr. Biggs in Hell's Kitchen. All take reservations for marquee matches; book 3–7 days out.

Where in Manhattan our inventory sits

Most of our Manhattan units are in Midtown and the Upper West Side, with a small presence in the Lower East Side. Midtown is the closest to fan zones, supporters' bars, and Penn Station for MetLife trips. Upper West Side is quieter, has Central Park, and is the right pick for families. Lower East Side has the youngest restaurant and bar scene and is best for groups skewing under 35.

For groups of 6+, our Manhattan inventory thins out. If you need that capacity, the Harlem brownstones (technically also Manhattan, technically uptown) are usually a better fit; same borough, lower per-night, larger floor plates.
